This Saturday, 11th February is World Happy Day when thousands of people will come together to watch screenings of the movie Happy. I am fascinated that World Happy Day is on a Saturday and not on a weekday which reminded me of research I read on the Action for Happiness site that found that in the majority of people happiness increases at the weekend – when they are not at work.

As someone who works for herself (and loves her work), I find this so sad and I have been researching and reading what does make people happy at work and what can companies, but also individuals, do to solve this problem.

After reading a fantastic article this week from Socialmouths on how to use Pinterest to curate and share content (do read this in-depth article for set up, posting and connection tips), I thought this weeks blog post could be a collection of some of the interesting ideas, books and videos that I have come across on the social web about happiness at work. (In case you are thinking, what’s the point in sharing via Pinterest, I am impressed by the evidence from my little experiment – within a few minutes of posting this ‘board’, I have had 3 followers, 5 repins of content and 1 Like.)

I will be using this to curate other topics around Working Better so if you like this board, then do
